This film has been made to help explain to children and young people what is likely to happen if they report sexual abuse to the police.
The film was developed in partnership with young people, the police, children's social care, University Hospitals of Derby and Burton, the Derby City Commuications Team and SV2. Film duration 15 minutes.
With the help of the Children in Care Council, Firs Primary School and the First Contact Team we now have a 6 minute film which focuses on 'Recognising, Responding, Referring and Recording Abuse'. The film is a very useful summary and gives two illustrations about how to talk with a child when there are concerns about abuse.
With the help of partners in Early Years and Health we have produced a 7 minute film to highlight issues of safe sleep, nappy sacks and soothing a baby. The film also incorporates the film 'Don't Shake Your Baby'. The film can be used with parents, staff working in Early Years, Health or Social Care.
